✦ Our Story

About SJHCC

A family rooted in faith, united in love, and called to bring healing and hope to every life we touch.

✦ Who We Are

Our Mission & Vision

St. James Healing Church of Christ is a vibrant, Spirit-filled community dedicated to the worship of God, the healing of the broken, and the empowerment of every believer to walk in their God-given purpose. We are more than a church — we are a family.

Our Mission

To glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ — teaching, equipping, and sending believers to bring healing, hope, and the Gospel to our community and beyond.

Our Vision

To be a house of prayer and healing where every person — regardless of background — encounters the transformative power of God's love and leaves forever changed.

Our Values

Faith, healing, community, integrity, and service. Everything we do flows from these five pillars and our deep commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our History

Born out of divine revelation in 1998, St. James Healing Church of Christ began as a small gathering of faithful believers and has grown into a thriving, multicultural church family touching lives across the globe.

✦ Our Story

How We Began

Our beloved church came into existence as a result of divine revelations, visions, and prophecies from God. The four founding members, who previously worshipped at Saint James Community Church (SJCC), collectively received repeated revelations during regular services — each confirming that divine miracles and healings would be performed at a basement apartment on Georgia Avenue. The consistency of these revelations across the same individuals gave them the conviction that God was directly calling them to form a new church.

These prophecies came into fruition on July 24th, 1998, when the first service was held at 14353 Georgia Avenue. The five founding members present at that historic service were: Reverend Philip Robinson, Reverend Teresa A. Momoh, Reverend Yvette T. Robinson, Reverend Hilda Musee, and Reverend Nicolah Alharazim. It was during this time — through the church's sacred season of Taborah, a 13-day period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual renewal observed each August — that the name of the church, its doctrine, and the formation of the inner altar were all divinely revealed.

Shortly after, Reverend Yeama Williams came to visit and, as a result of what she divinely experienced, chose to join the ministry — becoming not only the sixth member, but a very strong pillar of the church. Three months after the church was formed, a divine revelation confirmed that Adama Mansaray, a member of SJCC, was to serve as Church Mother — a role she has held with great devotion.

"Together, we are committed to listen to and implement whatever plan God has instructed us to carry out — taking the word of God into the world, helping others in our community, and continuing to spread the tenets of the scriptures."
